I am making some progress on Sweater II. I finished the first part of the ribbing and learned how to cable tonight. I will be working in pattern for a bit.
Started working on my second sweater, a ribbed pullover from the Oct. 2011 issue of Knit ‘n’ Style. The yarn is Berroco Vintage DK.
Knitted picot bind off.
Now I have to make an N7 Scarf.
I love how the biggest badasses in the galaxy are all knitting fanatics.
I’m left handed and I have a touchscreen laptop and always manage to drag my hand across the screen when I’m drawing or touching up photos. Solution: the photoshop glove. I knitted this to provide a cover over my hand and pinky finger to prevent unintentional interaction between skin and screen. I haven’t tested it yet, but I’m sure it will work.
It is Berroco “Comfort” Worsted Wweight 50/50 Fine Nylon & Fine Acrylic. The color is “9836” and this particular dye lot is “V1798”. The yarn is really soft to the touch and from the looks of it, it will indeed make a comfy pair of socks. I was at Yarns To Dye For in Frankfort, IL last Wednesday to pick up another skein. Depend on how these socks turn out, I may pick up some skeins in other colors and do up some more socks.
Also, the pattern I am using is the Knit Dorm Socks which you can get for free at Ravelry.com
@ home sick so I am knitting and resting. Can’t walk too well at the moment but my socks are coming along nicely. (Taken with Instagram)
My favorite LYS* (which I provide IT services to) is working on making better promotions on Groupon. They need at least 25 followers on Groupon in order to be able to offer daily deals. If you are on Groupon, please follow them. If you’re in the Chicago area, you may even want to take a drive down to Frankfort to visit Yarns To Dye For & More. They have a great selection of specialty yarns and the staff is quite knowledgeable and fun to talk to.

I stumbled across the Klingon word for knitting while tweeting in Klingonese not too long ago. Here are the results of my reearch:
vaDmuv - knit
vaDmuvpu - completed knitting (non-specific0
vaDmuvta - appox. ‘knitted’ (a completed project, one that you completed on purposed or for a specific purpose)
vaDmuvtah - approx. currently knitting (an ongoing project)
vaDmuvlI - approx. currently knitting (a project with a difinitive ending date
vaDmuvHa’ - literally ‘undo knitting’, or Frogging as we call it.
It is possible that vaDmuvtah could be part of the term/title ‘knitter’ if combined with jI- which is a verb prefix for ‘I’. So I would assumed that in describing myself as some who knits on a regular basis, I would call myself jIvaDmuvtah. However, if I were to address any of you as a knitter, I would say DuvaDmuvtah.
I’ve gone from 8 to 14 followers in the span of a week. Must be some kind of Tumblr record. To all my new followers, welcome to my own, very special brand of insanity. Your official “Minion of The Klingon Knitter” packages will be put in the mail soon. Well, eventually at least.
So what do I do? Well, I knit and cosplay as a Klingon (who knows how to knit). I am science fiction author, a Whovian (and I’m currently knitting yet another Doctor Who scarf. I really need to find the pattern for the 5th Doctor’s Cricket sweater), I’m also working on a degree in Information technology… I love my comics and I’m married to a woman who loves me regardless of all of this. My kids, well, I’m training them well. My dear daughter is already a Whovian at 5. Well, almost 5.
Feel free to think, laugh at some of my posts or hide behind the sofa, your choice really. In return, I’ll do what I can to keep things interesting.
Qap’la (or something).
Watch Doctor Who? Star Mass Effect over? Write? I do have that second book to work on. Maybe I could start drawing again… or clean something…
…or knit something…
